My husband and I came to Salt Lake City 1/15-19. We came for a hockey weekend and stopped in The Break for lunch on 1/16. Hyrum greeted us and was our server. He is AMAZING!! We ordered the Burnt End nachos (10/10) and the 3 different Mac n cheese; regular, loaded and lobster. I loved it here, and came back 1/17 for lunch and just to have a fun time. Hyrum was here again today and I had BLAST chatting with him for hours...and meeting sooo many wonderful people. I can not brag enough how delicious the food is here, how warm and welcoming everyone is. 100/10 definitely recommend and will probably be back tomorrow for that Mac n cheese!!! 10/10: staff!!!! 10/10: food and ambiance 10/10: location

From the moment we walked in, it was a great place! We were greeted immediately and told that we could sit wherever we wanted to. Hyrum was our server and he was AMAZING! Since we have never eaten here before and I was indecisive, I asked Hyrum what he suggested. He said the breakfast burrito smothered with sausage and an egg on top and it did not disappoint. It was OUTSTANDING!!!! The pico de gallo added a little spice to it with fresh cut jalapeños in it (without it being overpowering). My husband had the French toast with blueberry syrup and it was AMAZING! I don't usually like French toast but I ended up stealing at least a quarter of my husband's plate. In between Hyrum checking in on us (which was often enough to be attentive but not too much where you feel pressured), Ryan came by and was chatting with us about our visit to the city (because we were decked out in NHL gear). We came out for a hockey game as fans of the away team and one of the players was eating here with his family as we entered in. We figured it must good if the players are eating here, and we were completely right. The physical environment in the restaurant is great and very open. A family with small children came in a bit behind us and seemed to enjoy their entire meal as well. We hung out for almost 2 hours and the time flew by. Great food, great service and a great environment all around. If you get the chance, I would highly recommend this place!!!

I tried this place when I did an appetizer tour of a few restaurants in downtown Salt Lake City. I only ordered the burnt ends Mac and cheese and it was alright. I enjoyed the "burnt ends" meat with BBQ sauce but not the Mac and cheese because it lacked flavor. The service was fast, the place was clean and the waitress was very nice. We only spent about 15-20 minutes here because it was the first stop on our food tour.

Nice pre game pub. Typical sports bar atmosphere with lots of TVs. Kid friendly. Efficient service. Good tap list at reasonable prices. Food was higher end pub grub. Good place to stop pre game.

Not terrible. But they will tell you first hand "we're a restaurant and not a bar" which means you can't get a beer without food! Not their fault but this is not a sports "bar". Great job Utah!
